Load TIFF
« on: November 07, 2017, 10:51:09 PM »
Hello

We have received a request to load tiff files in our cmod system
We have only loaded Afp-data so far and have no experience with tiff.
We are in z /OS and use the thick client for viewing.
My questions are if it something to keep in mind for example
- When you load
- how the tiff files should be created
- when upgrading cmod
- how to use compression?
- is the thick client work well to view tiff document
- or anything else you see as a problem or to avoid problem.

I am grateful for any response that may make us avoid making unnecessary mistakes

I will give some comments,

- Loading will need to be done using the generic indexer.
- Compression we use Data OD77 Resource None.  Not sure if there is a better option.
- The thick client is fine, we use USER Defined Ext TIFF.   It will launch whatever app your desktop file extension is associated with TIFF

The biggest work will be in creating the indexing file.

Installation Verification Program #4 is loading a TIFF file.

Hopefully that's a good test case and template for what you're trying to do.
