AIX 6.1 EFS based encryption - CMOD 8.4
« on: March 21, 2011, 10:30:56 AM »
Hello,

Since CMOD doesn't recognize DB2 and TSM based encryption, we are looking into using AIX EFS (AIX 6.1) based encryption to encrypt the file systems for DB2 and TSM storage pools so that our data and indexes becomes encrypted.

I am looking if someone has already used AIX EFS based encryption, what was the experience from CMOD perspective, any issues and CMOD/TSM considerations (apart from requirements of EFS i.e. key management etc.) that need to be taken.

Our environment uses True Copy for SAN replication and HADR for DB2 replication to our DR server.

Following is our current software levels:

?   AIX v.6.1 TL3SP2 operating system
?   HACMP 5.4.0.1
?   CMOD v.8.4.1.4
?   IBM HTTP Server 7
?   DB2 version 9.5 FP5
?   TSM Server 5.5.30
?   TSM Client 5.5.10

Thanks,

Naveed.
