Updating metadata information using ODWEK API

All,
Did any of you use the following methods to update the metadata information for a hitlist:
ODFolder.updateValuesForHits()
ODHit.updateValuesForHit()

If so, can you please let me know if you ran into any performance issues doing so?

We have an implementation of the above methods. We are using the ODhit version of it. No performance issues as such.
