Transformation from AFP/MTA --> PDF
« on: May 15, 2012, 01:19:50 PM »
Hello all,

Trying to look into some products that have the capability to transform Meta data and AFP into PDF files to load into OnDemand, use overlays, formdef, fonts, etc..

The only one I know of off the top of my head right now is Xenos. Anyone have a suggestion as to a similar product?

I have heard of snowbound.
But I am not sure if it has all the features as Xenos.

Just wondering if anyone has any more feedback on this. Thanks!

Storing AFP is more efficient than storing PDFs.  You may want to store in AFP, and convert on the fly to PDF.  I'm not sure if you can do Metacode to AFP for storing in CMOD, and then convert to PDF at retrieval time -- but that would likely be optimal.

Hey JD- Thanks for the feedback. I don't think storage is really the concern at this point. We are just trying to compare apples to apples between various tools. I am just bumping this back to life to see if anyone else on here has experience working with various vendors other than IBM or Xenos. Xenos seems to be very very popular!
