Caching Data, Never expriing
« on: March 13, 2014, 12:15:02 PM »
My client is caching reports that will never expire, so naturally this is an easy task via a checkbox in the application group.

I am just wondering if someone can explain this a bit more.

Document data
If you select No Cache, then document data is not stored in cache. If you select Cache Document Data in Cache for xxx Days, then document data is stored in cache for xxx number of days before the data expires.

Would you be using "Cache only - Library Server" ?

If so, this setting can be set to "No". Since it is anyway going to be there are on cache.

If you are using any other storage node, and still if you need to have it on cache immediately after loading this setting can be used.

I just tried changing it from Expire in 90 days to Never Expire, and it is not letting me save, it is telling me that the Cache Data value and the Life of Data and Indexes value must be the same if the storage set contains cache only storage nodes.

How about giving a max date? It can support up to 99999 days

I think I've tried that and it didnt work. I remember trying that in a cache migration about 2 years ago.. no luck. Same error.

Possible solution

Set both to 99999 which is 273 years.
