Can we put tooltip or some instruction for search field?
e.g  Card Number : tooltip message "Please enter in this format 0000-0000-0000-0000"

It might be easier to remove embedded characters like spaces and dashes from the input -- it could also save space inside the database if you filter that data out at load time as well.

The nearest thing to a tool tip you can do is add your instructions in the Description box for the desired Folder Field in the field definition tab of the folder.
If a user happens to let their mouse hover over the field name the instructions will pop up.  Not ideal but it is slightly better than nothing.

Thanks this is a good idea.However tootip is appearing on mouse-over on field name not on text box.

@JD removing space and '-' is also good but customer is not willing to remove any data from file.
